  • Acute Severe Adult Allergic Rhinitis & Ocular Allergy

  • Clinical Presentation:

    The patient presented with an acute, severe allergic reaction. Symptoms included severe eye swelling, agonizing ocular itching, dryness, and tearing, leading to blurred vision. She experienced relentless rhinorrhea, profound sinus and nasal congestion causing breathing difficulty, intense deep-throat itching, facial tightness, and a heavy tension headache. Prescription allergy medications offered zero relief, leaving her unable to sleep and in extreme distress.

  • Treatment & Outcomes: Immediate relief was achieved upon insertion of the needles. Her nasal passages and sinuses opened completely, throat and eye itching vanished, her headache resolved, and her vision cleared. Relieved of all overwhelming symptoms, she smiled joyfully and expressed, "I am super happy!"

  • Severe Autoimmune Rheumatoid Arthritis

  • Clinical Presentation: Confirmed by lab panels, the patient suffered from severe systemic RA affecting her fingers, wrists, elbows, shoulders, hips, knees, and toes. High doses of immunosuppressants and painkillers failed to control the excruciating pain.

  • Clinical Presentation:

    The patient presented with multi-joint pain. Her neck, shoulders, and knees were severely stiff and painful (rated 4-6/10). Additionally, she suffered from rheumatoid-like symptoms in her wrists and fingers, experiencing a tight, 6/10 pain whenever she tried to flex her hands.

  • Treatment & Outcomes:

    During her 1st session, her finger joints felt noticeably looser and more flexible. Before leaving, she had a remaining pain level of 3/10; Tsung-Mei Tsai had her stay for an extra 10 minutes to perform Motion-Style Acupuncture (mobilizing the joint while needles are retained). Before she walked out, her pain had dropped to under 1/10.
